Sioux City North will have to forfeit many of its baseball and softball wins after they used ineligible players.
Sioux City North will have to forfeit many of their baseball and softball wins this season, after the state athletic associations ruled they used ineligible players.
The softball team has to forfeit all six of their victories, making their record 0-15.
The baseball team has to forfeit three games. Two of those wins came in a doubleheader sweep of Bishop Heelan on May 28th.
The baseball team is now 8-4 in the Missouri River Athletic Conference, instead of 10-2.
A school official told KTIV tonight an "academic issue" was the reason that the un-named players were ruled ineligible. The official also said they are working with the girls and boys unions to make sure it doesn't happen again.
The ineligible players are still on their teams and the forfeits will not effect either team's post-season eligibility.
