WATERLOO (KWWL) -

One person is injured after an overnight stabbing in Waterloo.

Police say it happened at Maywood Park in the 500 block of Milwaukee Street around 11:45 p.m. Sunday. 

Officers found the victim, Zachary Crabtree, 19, of Waterloo, sitting on the tennis court with a large laceration on his neck.

Crabtree said a white male with brown hair stabbed him and then took off running.

The victim was taken to Allen Hospital. Officials say he is expected to survive.

The investigation is ongoing.
