Japan unveils super compact car

KANAGAWA, Japan - After two years of testing, Japanese transport authorities have given an ultra-compact electric car the green light for use on public roads.

Check out the two-seater vehicle that has a maximum speed of about 37-miles-per-hour and can run for 62-miles on a single charge.

During the test phase, tourists were allowed to drive it and doctors were asked to use it on their house calls.

Kanagawa government officials hope to start using the vehicles to patrol public housing complexes this summer and later expand their use for tourism and to assist the elderly.
