Spencer, IA man is sentenced to 10 years in prison for meth conspiracy

SPENCER, Iowa (KTIV) -

A Spencer, Iowa man who conspired to distribute methamphetamine has been sentenced to ten years in prison.

29-year-old Ricardo Ballesteros pleaded guilty last September.

He admitted his involvement in a conspiracy that distributed more than ten pounds of meth in 2010 and 2011.

On two occasions, he distributed to an individual who was working undercover with law enforcement.

After serving a decade behind bars, Ballesteros must serve a five-year term of supervised release.

There is no parole in the federal system.
