A homecoming for around 50 soldiers Tuesday morning brought out dozens in the community to welcome them back.

KWWL live streamed the 20-minute event at 11 a.m. and will have footage on the KWWL News at Noon, 5, 6 and 10.

PREVIOUS STORY:

A community homecoming ceremony will happen Tuesday morning for about 50 soldiers with the Waterloo-based Detachment 1, Company C, 2-211th General Support Aviation Battalion.

The MEDEVAC unit deployed last July to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

During their deployment, the 2-211th flew more than 3,200 combat hours and conducted more than 650 medical evacuation and training missions. 

The homecoming reception will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Army Aviation Support Facility #2, 2245 West Big Rock Road, Waterloo.
