Two men were injured after an overnight shooting Friday in Waterloo.

Police officers were conducting a traffic stop at Broadway Avenue and Kern Street when they say they heard the sound of gunfire around 1 a.m. Friday.

A few minutes later, police were called to the 400 block of Bratnober Street. There, they found two people shot.

The victims, Patrick Greer, 46, and Jaevon Guyton, 19, told officers they were sitting outside when a man came from the alley and shot them.

Both were shot in the leg. They were taken to a Waterloo hospital for treatment. 

Waterloo police say they recovered eight shell casings at the scene.
