Police: man attempts to entice children in Storm Lake
STORM LAKE, Iowa (KTIV) -
The Storm Lake Police Department is asking the communities assistance in locating a person who allegedly attempted to entice two small children on Saturday afternoon.
On the afternoon of Saturday, June 22, 2013, at approximately 5:15pm, the Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to the 1200 block of Spooner Street in reference to a report of a male subject attempting to entice two small children.
Upon arrival of police they were told that a six year old boy and a six year old girl were approached by a male subject who gave them money. The man then told the children he would give them more money and ice cream if they would meet him at the end of the block. The subject then drove away.
The children did not go to meet the man and they went and reported the incident to their parents. The children were uninjured.
Police canvassed the area and received additional information that a vehicle matching the suspect's vehicle was seen near the children.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 20's with dark hair wearing a gray shirt. The suspect's vehicle is described as a bright red passenger car with a spoiler on the trunk area. The vehicle was last seen southbound in the 1200 block of Spooner Street.
