UPDATE: Motorcyclist released from hospital; van driver charged
A car and motorcycle crashed near Floyd Boulevard and 28th Street.
Police say a woman was driving drunk, with a small child in the van when she hit a motorcyclist in Sioux City.
Police say it happened around 9:45 p.m. Sunday near the railroad crossing at Floyd Boulevard and 28th Street.
They say the van driver was intoxicated and hit motorcyclist 25 year-old Christopher Mussleman of Sioux City. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.
After the crash, the van burst into flames.
The driver of the van, 29 year-old Rosa Lincoln and her passenger were not hurt.
Witnesses say it was a chaotic scene.
"I was taking my bike down the road and I saw smoke in the sky. So, naturally, that's never a good sign. I came up and, sure enough, I see the car on fire and ambulances everywhere. I saw somebody being put into a stretcher. It seemed like a bad situation," said Henry Zimmerman, a witness.
Rosa Lincoln faces several charges, including driving while intoxicated and child neglect.
