WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A passer-by is to thank for getting people out of their burning home in Waterloo Monday.

It happened at the 1500 block of West Fifth Street.

A neighbor saw smoke coming from the roof of a house a little before 1 p.m. Monday.

He then went and knocked on the door, alerting the two people inside to get out. Four people in total live in the duplex, according to officials.

Authorities are still looking for the cause of the fire.
