A Laurel, Neb. man has had his sexual assault convictions upheld in court

The Nebraska Court of Appeals Tuesday affirmed the sexual assault and incest convictions of 39-year-old William Kelly.

He was convicted of the felonies in Cedar County District Court in 2011.

Prosecutors say Kelly sexually assaulted a teenage relative over the course of a decade.

Kelly appealed his conviction, arguing there was insufficient evidence, his counsel was ineffective and that evidence of prior sexual assaults should not have been allowed at trial.

The Court of Appeals found his claims without merit and denied his appeal.
