Prosecutors in an Antelope County, Nebraska double homicide case say they have recorded conversations of the alleged murderer threatening one of the victims. 33-year old Matthew Hinrichsen of Ewing appeared in court Wednesday morning for a pre-trial hearing.
He's charged with first-degree murder and arson in the December deaths of Victoria and Alex Vargas. The newlyweds were found shot to death inside their trailer near Ewing, which had been set on fire.
Prosecutors say they plan to submit recordings as evidence at trial of phone conversations Hinrichsen had with Victoria about two months prior to her death.
Victoria Vargas was Hinrichsen's ex-girlfriend.
Hinrichsen's trial has been pushed back to October 15th.
