2013 Robo Cup

EINDHOVEN, Netherlands - What's being called the biggest robotics expo in the world got underway Wednesday in the Netherlands.

Robocup 2013 has drawn 25-hundred participants from 40 countries who'll compete in a number of contests.

There are robots that can play soccer, dance, and perform rescue operations.

One goal of the expo is to develop robots that can perform healthcare functions for humans.

One robot maker said the underlying technology that can produce robots that play soccer is basically the same as the technology that produces robots who can care for people.
