A Sioux City grocery store is open under a new name


Save-A-Lot has now opened at 1730 Pierce street.

The store was formerly called Select Food Mart and its under the same management.

It had been open for around two years.

The owner says the store closed temporarily to re-open as a Save-A-Lot.

"Customers are really, really happy because of the prices and before we had a lot of high prices and now we have comparative prices so people like it," Ahsan Alahi, Save-A-lot Grocery Store Owner said.

An official Grand Opening is set for Wednesday, July 3rd, at 10 a.m.

Store hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

Save-A-Lot is a discount grocery store chain that has 1,400 stores based out of St. Louis, Missouri.
