Couple hurt in Stanton Co. crash

Posted:

A two-vehicle crash east of Norfolk Sunday morning sent two people to the hospital with head injuries.

Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says a vehicle driven by 74-year-old Larry Nutter, of Stanton, was westbound on Highway 24 when he struck the rear of a fertilizer trailer being towed by a pickup.

Both Nutter and his wife, 64-year-old Ellen Nutter, suffered head injuries and were taken to Faith Regional Health Services for treatment.

The driver of the pickup, Randy Anderson, declined treatment.

Officials says the crash closed Highway 24, east of Norfolk, for about one hour while the scene was cleared.
