Officials say the cause of a Yankton, South Dakota mobile home fire may never be known.

Three people, including a child, were injured after fire destroyed a Yankton, South Dakota mobile home Monday afternoon.

Yankton Deputy Fire Chief Larry Nickles said crews were called to the East Winds Trailer Court around 3:45pm after a passerby noticed the home was on fire and alerted the six occupants inside.

Everyone was able to escape, but a 4-year-old was treated at Avera Sacred Heart, in Yankton, for minor burns.

The passerby was also slightly injured, but refused treatment. A firefighter sustained a minor hand injury.

Nickles says the fire started on the deck-area outside, but are unable to pinpoint exactly what caused the fire.  They do, however, say it's not considered suspicious.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.
