SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -
Peter Barrows hit a walkoff two run homer in the bottom of the 12th inning to give the Sioux City Explorers a 5-3 win over Gary-Southshore on Thursday.
Sioux City (20-25) got on the board in the third inning. Leugim Barroso's two-out single to left scored Anthony Kaskadden for a 1-0 Explorers lead. It stayed that way until the sixth. Gary's Mike Massaro's two-run triple put the Railcats ahead 2-1.
Kaskadden's bloop single to right in the seventh inning scored two X's runners and gave Sioux City a 3-2 lead. Gary sent the game to extra innings with a run in the eighth.
X's starting pitcher Jason Jarvis, fifth in the league in ERA, retired the first six men he faced. Jarvis gave up three runs in 7 1/3 innings, getting a no-decision. Jimmer Kennedy pitched three innings of scoreless relief to get the win.
The four game series ends at 7:05 on Friday night.
