X's beat Gary for fourth win in five games

The Sioux City Explorers beat Gary-Southshore 6-1 on Friday, taking three of four from the second place Railcats.

The X's banged out 14 hits, including six doubles, and took a 6-0 lead after three innings. Peter Barrows and Luke Murton each doubled twice as ever Explorer starter had at least one hit.

Sioux City starting pitcher Richard Salazar (4-1) pitched eight strong innings, giving up just one run on five hits. The lefthanded Salazar also had six strikeouts.

Sioux City (21-25) starts an eight game road trip on Saturday in Fargo, North Dakota. After four games against the Redhawks, Sioux City will play four more games in Sioux Falls.
