Delay in trial of a Sioux City man accused of beating and robbing another man

There's a delay in the trial of a Sioux City man who's accused of beating and robbing another man.

Levon Dean is charged with robbery, burglary and theft.

He was in court Monday to discuss details of his upcoming trial.

Police say Dean and his brother Jamal, beat and robbed a man inside a home in the Leeds neighborhood on the city's north side.

At one point, police say Jamal Dean split the victim's head open by hitting him with the stock of a 22-caliber rifle.

When the man woke up, the Dean brothers were gone and so were his electronics, wallet and cars.

Levon Dean's trial is Tuesday, July 23rd.
