Shelby County, Ohio teachers, school administrators and staff spent Saturday afternoon firing guns at the Shelby County Shooting Range.

"We're very excited about the opportunity. whatever it takes to save kids," says Hardin-Houston Local Schools Superintendent Larry Claypool.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office partnered with school districts around the county to provide the free training.

"These teachers were great students. they get it. they were focused. they were very passionate about what was going on," explains Shelby County Sheriff John Lenhart.

After the school shooting massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary in December, Sidney City Schools Superintendent John Scheu says the district wanted to be proactive.
