UPDATE: Proposed NE Nebraska wind project could power 60,000 homes

A major wind energy project proposed for Dixon County, Nebraska would bring power to thousands of homes.

TradeWind Energy out of Lenexa, Kansas has proposed The Rattlesnake Creek Wind Project for the area in between Allen, Emerson, and Wakefield, Nebraska.

According to TradeWind's website, the project would include more than one-hundred landowners and cover more than twenty-thousand acres.

The turbines would produce enough power for about 60,000 homes and it would be marketed locally and regionally.

TradeWind says once it's complete, The Rattlesnake Creek Wind Project could be one of the most productive wind projects in Nebraska.
