Battle Creek teen killed in crash


A 17-year-old rural Battle Creek resident has died in a single-vehicle rollover crash in northeastern Nebraska.

According to the Madison County Sheriff's Department, Ashley Marx was killed Friday evening, when she lost control of her vehicle on a rural road, and rolled.

The crash happened three-and-a-half miles southeast of Battle Creek, on 838th Road.

Authorities say she was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

A crisis team has been established to work with Battle Creek Public School students.
