Tim Pahuta crosses the plate after his home run in the fourth.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KTIV) -
Sioux Falls completed the four game sweep, handing Sioux City it's fifth straight loss, 3-1 Saturday night.
The Explorers jumped out to a 1-0 on an RBI single from Luke Murton in the fourth inning. The run ended a 23-inning scoreless drought by Sioux City.
However, that lead was short lived as the Canaries answered with three of their own in the home half of the frame.
With one out and one on, Tim Pahuta smashed a two-run home run to put Sioux Falls out front 2-1. After a double by Jake Taylor, Marcos Rodriguez singled him home to give the Canaries a two run cushion.
Kyle Ruwe earned the victory, tossing 7.1 innings while striking out two. Dan Jurik took the loss, going 6.1 innings with five strikeouts.
Sioux City returns to Lewis & Clark Park for a seven game homestand Sunday, beginning first with Wichita. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m.
