Sioux City may set Martin Luther King holiday

The Sioux City city council is set to talk about different options for designating a city holiday to honor Reverend Martin Luther King Junior.

A presentation and discussion is on the agenda for Monday's study session at city hall.

For years, the Sioux City Chapter of the NAACP has asked city leaders to recognize the slain civil rights leader's birthday as a holiday.

The designation would mean city workers get a paid day off.
