Sioux City school board extends superintendent's contract

The Sioux City Community School Board voted Monday night to extend Dr. Paul Gausman's contract as Superintendent, and boost his pay.

There had been two years left on Gausman's contract which now runs for three years, ending June 30, 2016.

He's getting a four percent pay raise to put his salary at $212,482.  The board also approved putting $30,000 into a tax sheltered retirement annuity for Gausman.

He's been Superintendent for the Sioux City district since 2008.  He oversees thousands of employees in a district that serves about 14,000 students.
