UPDATE: Two cars collided late Thursday night near Emerson, NE


Authorities arrested a Winnebago, Nebraska man for Driving Under the Influence after a crash last night near Emerson.

Dakota County Sheriff's officials say Dayton Horton was speeding and lost control of his SUV near the intersection of 270th and O Avenue.

He collided with a vehicle driven by Chantelle Hoffman of Wakefield, Nebraska.

Deputies arrested Horton for DUI and careless driving.

They say he kicked out a patrol car window while being hauled off to jail.

While both vehicles were totaled none of the other four people inside the two vehicles were hurt.

The details of the accident are still being investigated

But, Dakota County deputies say a Ford Explorer was speeding and collided head on with a Cadillac near the intersection of 270th Street and O Avenue.

Deputies say the driver of the Ford Explorer is in jail.

No one was seriously injured.
