RedHawks down X's with ninth inning rally

Fargo-Moorhead scored two runs in the ninth inning to down Sioux City. Fargo-Moorhead scored two runs in the ninth inning to down Sioux City.

Fargo-Moorhead scored seven runs over the final four innings, including two in the bottom of the ninth to rally past Sioux City 10-9 Sunday night.

The loss drops the Explorers to 26-42 on the season.

Trailing 3-2 heading into the fourth inning, the X's tied the game on Eddie Young's RBI triple.

Sioux City continue pound away in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs in the frame.  After a leadoff single by Anthony Kaskadden, Sam Judah doubled into the left-center field gap to put Sioux City up 4-3.

After advancing to third on a wild pitch, Judah scored on Luke Murton's sac fly to left to give the X's a two run lead.

Following a walk to Yusuke Inoguchi, Bryan Pounds hit an inside the park home run to extend the lead to 7-3.  Alberto Espinosa then stepped to dish and smacked a solo job to make it an 8-3 ball game.

Down 9-8 in the ninth, Nic Jackson led the inning off with a solo home run to tie things up at nine.

With one out and the bases loaded, Mitch Einertson singled off closer Chris Bodishbaugh to end the game.

The X's return home Monday to begin a three game series against Gary SouthShore.  Lincoln heads to Sioux City for three games over the weekend.

Aug. 2 and 3 are "Pack the Park" nights at Lewis & Clark.  A movie crew will be there to film for the upcoming movie High & Outside during the games.
