A former Lyon County, Iowa sheriff's deputy has been charged with sexually abusing a teenager.

Authorities say they began investigating, 35 year-old Christopher Lincecum at the end of last month.

They say Lincecum had inappropriate sexual contact with a 15 year-old girl on one of two occasions when the victim went on a ride-along with him during his shift.

Authorities say he left the department this past spring, due to an unrelated matter.
