The Sioux City Explorers snapped a three game losing streak with a 5-4 win over Gary-Southshore on Tuesday night.
Gary took a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the fourth. Sioux City (27-43) got on the board when Bryan Pounds hit a double off the wall in left-center to score Peter Barrows from first base to make it 2-1.
After tying the game in the fifth inning, Sioux City took their first lead on Alberto Espinosa's two run double in the sixth which made it 4-2. Gary (40-30) tied the game with a pair of runs in the seventh inning.
Peter Barrows hit a double in the eighth inning to drive home Austin Gallagher and the X's had the lead back at 5-4. Richard Salazar (6-3) pitched seven inning and got the victory. Jimmer Kennedy worked the final two innings for his first save of the season.
The three game series will end on Wednesday at 7:05. After a day off Thursday, Lincoln comes to Lewis and Clark Park to start a three game series on Friday.
