Used buses are arriving in Sioux City, months after the city's transit system decided to forego new models because of limited federal funding.
The Sioux City Transit System has spent $200,000 to buy four used buses from California.
The buses, which arrive next week, each have about 250,000 miles and they're expected to last seven years.
A bulk of the $4.2 million available from the Federal Transit Administration for bus replacements in Iowa were earmarked for other major cities. Sioux City had to share $931,000.
The agency had 1.1 million riders in the last fiscal year.
