Siouxland college celebrates Iowa Private College Week

Many high school seniors don't perceive private college as a realistic option, but one Siouxland college is working to change that.

This week is Iowa Private College Week, and to acknowledge that, Northwestern College in Orange City has been hosting informational sessions.

Northwestern focuses these sessions on informing students of the scholarships offered which make private college more affordable.

Over the course of the week, Northwestern has held two sessions per day, and will do so again Friday.

More than 100 students have attended.

Dean of Enrollment Management, Kenton Pauls, says the events help correct misconceptions regarding private college.

After the presentation, students were invited to tour the campus.

One stop on that tour: the new DeWitt Learning Commons which will be completed before classes begin this fall.
