Siouxland church donates school supplies for kids in need
First Christian Church in Sioux City has taken Hunt Elementary School under their wing.
Members of the congregation were asked to bring in school supplies for the school next door.
The church collected enough supplies to reach about 100 students, and teachers will present them to kids who don't have supplies on the first day of school. "Typically there's about five or six kids in every classroom that comes without supplies. That would be common, so they use there supplies so those students feel that they have everything they needs," says Angela Bemus, Assistant Principal at Hunt Elementary.
The church also held a luncheon for the faculty of Hunt Elementary after presenting them with the supplies.
