SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

The Westboro Baptist Church will come to Sioux City, next Monday, to rally against the city council's latest appointment to the Human Rights Commission.

Church member Elizabeth Phelps says parishioners will protest the city council's appointment of Scott Raasch. Raasch is gay.

Phelps says same sex marriage, which is legal in Iowa, is "just a satanic ploy to promote behavior that will be the death of this nation."

Phelps says church members will rally outside City Hall, on Monday, at 12:30pm, and outside Sioux City East High School at 1:45pm.
