United Way kicks off its new campaign

SOUTH SIOUX CITY  (KTIV) - It's been said that all it takes is one person to make a difference.

That is the message behind United Way's fundraising campaign this year.

The United Way of Siouxland kicked things off today with a meeting with leaders and volunteers.

They hope to focus funds to improve education, income and health around Siouxland.

While collectively the United Way is a positive force, Chairperson John Gleeson says it all starts with one person.

"By giving or advocating or volunteering that one person can have a difference on another person's life. So by being the one you can be very powerful." said John Gleeson.

United Way of Siouxland's goal for this campaign is 3-point-3 million dollars, which is 100-thousand more than they raised in last year's campaign.
