LAREDO, Texas (KTIV) -
Brian Peterson scored on a bases loaded walk with two outs in the 10th inning, giving the Laredo Lemurs a 7-6 win over the Sioux City Explorers on Tuesday night. X's reliever John Holdzkom was the losing pitcher.
Sioux City had 15 hits compared to 11 for Laredo, but the X's left eight men on base.
Laredo opened up a 5-0 lead after two innings but the Explorers battled back to send the game to extra innings tied at 6-6. Sioux City scored a single run in the third inning on Peter Barrows' 12th home run, then scored four runs in the fifth to take a 6-5 advantage.
Yusuke Inoguchi and Eliezar Mesa each had three hits to lead the Sioux City attack. Pitching coach Ty Marotz was named the interim manager before the game after the suspension of manager Stan Cliburn after a drunk driving arrest.
The three game series continues on Wednesday.
