Military judge sentences PFC Bradley Manning to 35 years in prison

Private First Class Bradley Manning has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for giving U.S. secrets to WikiLeaks.

A military judge handed down Manning's sentence Wednesday.

He was convicted last month of 20 counts giving classified information to the anti-secrecy website.

The 25-year-old Oklahoma native was found guilty of leaking at least 700,000 documents while working as an intelligence analyst based in Iraq.

Manning said he gave out information to expose the military's "blood lust" and disregard for human life.

He faced up to 90 years in prison for his crimes.
