X's swept by Laredo

The Sioux City Explorers let a 5-1 lead slip away late, falling to Laredo 6-5 Thursday night.  It's the X's fifth straight loss.

Alberto Espinosa opened the scoring with a sac fly in the second inning to put Sioux City up 1-0.    Three batters later Leugim Barroso singled home two more with an RBI knock to right.

Leading 4-1 heading into the fifth, the X's pushed their lead to five on Peter Barrows RBI double to center.

But, the Lemurs chipped away scoring three in the bottom of the frame and added a the go-ahead run in the seventh on Brian Peterson's RBI single.

The X's will head to El Paso to battle El Paso before returning back to Lewis and Clark Park on Aug. 27.
