Sioux City discusses plans to make two-way streets
Another traffic change could be coming to downtown Sioux City.
Mayor Bob Scott said the council is looking at changing 5th and 6th streets from one-way to two-way traffic.
Scott said that would make it easier for people driving downtown, in light of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino under construction.
"So, the people will have easier times getting down here especially with what's going to be happening in the next couple years here, it will be nice to have these converted back to two-way streets," Scott said.
"If you're serious about downtown, you've got to get people moving around and two way traffic makes sense," Pearl Street Business Owner Rick Bertrand said.
The Mayor hopes the city will begin work on converting 5th street first and that the project will be complete by the end of next year.
