Businesses remain open in Sioux City despite proximity to construction
Despite all the construction work going on in downtown Sioux City, businesses want people to know they're still open.
With the construction of the Hard Rock underway, there are several road closures and construction sites affecting downtown.
Part of Water Street will be closed to drivers from 4th street to north of the alley for the first stage of construction, but stores won't be closed for business.
Business owners on Water and Pearl Streets say they are counting on the city to do it's part by putting up the proper signs to get people to their shops and bars, but they are still concerned.
"The biggest question I get asked: Are you going to move? Right now, we have no plans on that," Hydraulic Sales & Service Owner Rodney Reisdorph said.
"Like we said before the construction started, we're all nervous because we've seen what happened in other parts of the city when construction happens, but for the most part, most of the construction is to the south of us," Peal Street Business Owner Rick Bertrand said.
Bertrand also noted that even with the construction there are parking spaces available near the businesses.
