Monona man accused of severely injuring toddler arrested in Dubuque

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

A man accused of injuring an eastern Iowa toddler was arrested in Dubuque. Authorities had been looking for 21-year-old Troy Laufenberg of Monona for more than a month.

Authorities in Dubuque arrested Laufenberg just before10 p.m. Saturday at the Road Ranger on Central Avenue.

The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office said Laufenberg was arrested for violation of probation. He also has warrants for arrest and faces charges in Wisconsin and in Clayton County.

Clayton County authorities believe Laufenberg is responsible for severely injuring Myah Larson of Monona.

Authorities said the 18-month-old suffered injuries consistent with shaken baby syndrome on July 15th.
