Police say man is tortured in Sioux City apartment

Two people are behind bars after police say they tortured a man in a Sioux City apartment.

33-year-old Melissa Lowe and 32-year-old Brandon Keleher are charged with robbery and willful injury.

Police say around 3 a.m., Saturday, they got a call for a disturbance from a neighbor.

When they arrived at 1623 Nebraska Street, Apartment 3, police learned the pair had stolen a wallet from a man they had met earlier in the night and invited back their apartment.

They also say the two had hit, stabbed and burned him with a heated up kitchen utensil.

The victim, whose name is not being released, was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

The pair is currently in the Woodbury County Jail, on $70,000 bond.
