Jim Delany talks to reporters during the Hawkeyes practice.
Iowa City, IA (KTIV) -
Prior to the college football season kicking off, Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delaney made the rounds, visiting both Nebraska and Iowa.
The talk wasn't about X's and O's, but the state of the league.
Delaney has been a very proactive in term of conference re-alignment, adding new, prestigious teams in the conference with Huskers in 2010 and Rutgers and Maryland which will officially join next season.
He believes the changes are slowing down, but he'll remain vigilant as far as future expansion in concerned.
"I think it's pretty calm," Delany said. "People are really spending their time on integrating and building. Some of the schools have come in new this year, some last year, some next year. All of us, have a responsibility, now that most of us are in two regions, to build an identity in the regions."
