SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -
The Sioux City Explorers' bid for their first four game winning streak of the season ended with a 5-3 loss to Sioux Falls on Wednesday night.
The X's got on the board in the first inning without a hit. After two walks and two wild pitches, Leugim Barroso scored from third to give Sioux City a 1-0 lead. Sioux Falls tied the game on a solo home run from Jared Clark in the second inning.
The Canaries scored another run in the third and two more in the fourth to build a 4-1 advantage. The X's answered with two runs in the sixth inning on a two run homer from Sam Judah but the Canaries tacked on another run in the seventh.
Preston Olson took the loss, giving up four runs on nine hits over four innings. Olson did strike our four batters.
Sioux City (34-61) will travel to Sioux Falls on Thursday and the home finale is Friday, also against the Canaries.
