Charges dropped against two people accused of torturing man

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Charges have been dropped against two people accused of torturing a man in a Sioux City apartment.

33 year-old Melissa Lowe and 32 year-old Brandon Keleher were charged with robbery and willful injury.

According to court documents filed today, Woodbury County attorney, P.J. Jennings requested the judge drop the charges until a further investigation could be done.

Last month, police say Keleher and Lowe stole a wallet from a man they had met earlier in the night.  It happened at 1623 Nebraska Street.  Police say the two hit, stabbed and burned him.

The 28 year-old man, whose name has not been released, was treated at released at a local hospital.
