Iowa will try to break a seven game losing streak when they host Missouri State on Saturday.
Normally, a game against Missouri State wouldn't cause much worry for the Iowa Hawkeyes. But this might not be a normal football season. Seven FCS teams beat FBS teams last week. That includes Northern Iowa's win at Iowa State.
The Hawkeyes are trying to bounce back from their 30-27 loss to Northern Illinois in their opener. Iowa has now lost seven straight games going back to last season, and haven't won a game since winning at Michigan State last October.
Missouri State is also 0-1 after losing to Northwestern State of Louisiana in their opener. It's the first meeting between the schools, but Iowa is anxious to get on the field again.
"Saturday's behind us. It was behind us pretty much after the game," said linebacker James Morris. "We watch the tape and we try to learn from it but a loss is a loss and you can't do anything about it right now. We're just focused on Missouri State right now and trying to beat them."
"You always got to work after a loss," said Carl Davis. "Just work on everything. We want more pressure on the quarterback, less rushing yards, more coverage, just different things. We can always get better."
Iowa and Missouri State play at 11:00 AM Saturday on the Big Ten Network.
