Iowa State edged Northern Iowa 3-2 on Wednesday night in front of over 6,000 fans in Cedar Falls.

The largest crowd to ever see a volleyball game in the state of Iowa, 6,221, watched #11 Iowa State edge Northern Iowa 3-2 on Wednesday night.
The Cyclones won the first two games (25-13, 25-20) before the Panthers tied the match with two straight wins (25-20, 25-20). Iowa State won the decisive fifth game, 15-9, for the victory.
Iowa State, who improved to 4-0, was led by Ciara Capezio's 22 kills. Former Bishop Heelan standout Natalie Vondrak had eight kills and a team-high four blocks.
Iowa State begins its home season with the Iowa State Challenge this weekend. The Cyclones start play with No. 14 San Diego Friday at 6:30 p.m., and then take on No. 18 Illinois Sunday at 2 p.m. USD and UI play each other Saturday at noon in Hilton.
Northern Iowa is 1-3 and will play in the North Dakota State Classic this weekend.
