Two Big 12 teams, Iowa State and Kansas State, lost to teams from the Missouri Valley Football Conference in week one. The University of South Dakota hopes the Valley goes to 3-0 against the Big 12 when they visit Kansas on Saturday. It's their first meeting since the Jayhawks won in Vermillion, 42-0 in 1900.

The Coyotes are 1-0 after beating Cal-Davis 10-7 last Saturday. It's the opener for the Jayhawks.

USD has played BCS teams before, losing at Northwestern, Wisconsin and Air Force over the last two years. The Coyotes won at Minnesota in 2010.

Kansas was picked to finish last in the Big 12 after going 1-11 last season so this is a game USD can win.

"If we can hang in there in the first half and stay close and fight hard and hang in there with them, bang with the heavyweights a little bit, I got a feeling that should play into our hand," said USD head coach Joe Glenn. "We'll feel like we belong and we'll feel like we can win it and they're going to be wondering what's wrong. Why aren't we winning over this team we should be beating?"

KU's only win last year was against South Dakota State. USD and Kansas kick off at 6 o'clock on Saturday night.
