In an effort to help veterans, and make strides to end homelessness, Sioux City held its annual veteran's stand down.
Veterans who came out received information about medical services, community housing referrals, and counseling.
They also got a home cooked meal and clothing at the Midtown Community Center.
Healthcare officials said these stand downs are being held across the country to help communities give back to people who have served our country and are now in need.
"They rely on it to stock up on some needed items that they maybe can't get them in other places," Sioux Falls VA Social Worker, Mary Jordan, said.
Jordan said about 25 organizations took part in the event and about 40 veterans from the community came out.
