Northwestern College quarterback Davis Bloemendaal is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week.
Bloemendaal, a senior, from Orange City, Iowa, helped lead 13th-ranked Northwestern to its 55-37 season opening road win against Bacone College (Okla.). The senior quarterback completed 17-of-25 pass attempts for 316 yards and matched his career high with four touchdowns.
Bloemendaal also rushed for 61 yards and two additional touchdowns, totaling six scores, the most ever by a Red Raider player. It marked the third 300-yard game of his career.
Bloemendaal threw touchdown passes of 14, 57, 9 and 29 yards in the win, guiding a Red Raider offense that gained 604 total yards. 13th-ranked Northwestern is 1-0 on the year.
Northwestern will next play on September 14 in their GPAC opener at Doane College in Crete, Nebraska
