The Musketeers practice in preparations for the USHL Fall Classic on Wednesday and Thursday.
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -
The Sioux City Musketeers are again hosting the USHL Fall Classic but the format has changed. Only the eight teams from Western Conference teams are here Wednesday and Thursday.
This is the seventh year the Muskies have hosted the event. There are four games each day at the Tyson Events Center, starting at 10:00 in the morning.
Sioux City is fresh off a trip to the Atlantic Challenge in New Jersey where they finished 1-2. The results of exhibition games aren't that important, but it's how the team is progressing under new head coach Jay Varady.
"We did some things really good," Varady said. "I thought offensively, we had good output at the Atlantic challenge. Not so much in terms of goals, but in terms of the scoring chances we generated."
"We came together very good the first game," defenseman Blake Heinrich said. I thought we played pretty good, not the results we wanted but we just need carry it over from last week into tomorrow and get a win over Waterloo."
The Muskies play Waterloo on Wednesday and Sioux Falls on Thursday. Both games are at 7 o'clock at the Tyson.
