Revenge may be a factor for Nebraska

Nebraska gave up 653 yards in a 36-30 loss at UCLA last season. Nebraska gave up 653 yards in a 36-30 loss at UCLA last season.

Nebraska coach Bo Pelini isn't dismissing revenge as a motivator when his number-23 Cornhuskers host 16th-ranked UCLA on Saturday.

Last year, the Huskers lost 36-30 in Los Angeles and gave up 653 yards -- the second-most ever against a Nebraska defense.

Pelini says he's sure his team is always motivated but if that loss to UCLA gives the Huskers some extra incentive, that's fine with him. The players want another shot at the Bruins.

"Sitting in the locker room after thinking about it for a while, you've got to take the ups and downs and learn from it," said senior center Cole Pensick. "You can't dwell on it."

"It was a tough loss," said senior cornerback Ciante Evans. "They deserved every bit of it but hopefully we can try to change the outcome this year."

The Bruins are 1-0 after beating Nevada 58-20. That's an 11:00 AM kickoff Saturday.
